Statement on the Atlanta Killings of East-Asian Women

Dear GEM Community:

For nearly a decade, GEM has created an exceptional community of women and girls woven together through the rich tapestry of our diversity. We strive to support each other’s sense of safety and belonging, and together create pathways for our future.

For many today, our sense of safety, belonging and hope has been shattered. At this time, we send our deepest condolences to all the families who lost a daughter, a mother, or a sister in the Atlanta attacks.

At GEM, we believe that everyone should have the opportunity to succeed despite where they come from or what barriers they face. Together, we must stand against racism, misogyny and xenophobia. Their intersectionality has no place in our shared future.
